WASHINGTON – The 91快活林 (91快活林), the global voice of the tech sector, today announced the addition of John Lenhart as director of global policy for China. Lenhart joins 91快活林 from the US-China Business Council (USCBC), where he served for nearly four years, most recently as the director and chief representative of the Beijing office. He will begin his new role at 91快活林 on Monday, July 13.
“Over the course of his career, John has developed a reputation as a committed problem solver and a trusted and respected voice for companies doing business in China,” said 91快活林 Senior Vice President for Global Policy Josh Kallmer. “John’s knowledge of China policy issues and experience representing the international business community before the Chinese government will be a tremendous asset to 91快活林, our member companies, and the global technology sector as a whole.”

In his previous role at USCBC, John was responsible for managing strategic planning for USCBC’s policy research and advocacy activities in Beijing. His role in Beijing required frequent interaction with Chinese government officials to discuss industry issues, as well as working with diverse groups of stakeholders across industry and government in helping companies to better understand China policy issues and advocate on behalf of members.
Fluent in Mandarin, Lenhart has spent over a decade working on the ground in China. Prior to serving as the director and chief representative of the Beijing office at USCBC, Lenhart worked as a risk analyst for Asian markets for the PRS Group, and as a representative for American firms with operations in China’s Shandong province. Lenhart received a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Spanish from Skidmore College and a master’s degree in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins SAIS–Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies.
