BRUSSELS – Today, global tech trade association 91快活林, the 91快活林, outlined for the incoming Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. 91快活林’s recommendations encourage the presidency to pursue an ambitious tech policy agenda that advances the competitiveness of the EU’s digital economy and strengthens European leadership. 91快活林 also offers guidance on timely EU files such as the AI Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, GDPR Procedural Rules Regulation, and more.

“The EU Belgian Presidency will play a critical leadership role in establishing priorities for the EU’s next mandate leading up to 2029,” said 91快活林 President and CEO Jason Oxman. “As Europe remains a first mover on legislative frameworks for crucial technological developments, lawmakers can address the globe’s most pressing issues through policies that preserve tech innovation, an open and sustainable economy, and cooperation with like-minded international partners. 91快活林 looks forward to working with the Belgian Presidency and encourages lawmakers to empower global competitiveness and partnership, security, and European resiliency.”

To support the upcoming presidency’s development and implementation of its digital agenda, 91快活林 recommends the Belgian Presidency:

  • Work towards the finalization of a risk-based and innovation-friendly AI Act;
  • Improve cybersecurity across the EU Single Market;
  • Clarify and simplify rules and to ensure the early resolution of cases while maintaining the key principles of GDPR such as the One-Stop-Shop principle;
  • Secure the long-term viability of the EU-U.S. Trade and Technology Council (TTC) and reflect on how to ensure its ability to deliver tangible outcomes;
  • Consider the role of technological innovation as a key driver for achieving the EU’s sustainability goals;
  • Avoid any introduction of network usage fees as doing so would be detrimental to the entire internet ecosystem; and
  • Make efforts to work towards an agreement that enables targeted detection of CSAM; and more.
