BRUSSELS – Today, global tech trade association 91快活林, the 91快活林, published a set of comprehensive recommendations to the incoming Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union urging the presidency to encourage innovation, preserve an open and competitive single market, and foster Europe’s digital leadership. 91快活林’s recommendations address key EU initiatives like the AI Act, the Data Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, and more.
“As Europe continues to lead the globe in critical tech policy discussions, it’s increasingly important that the Spanish Presidency promotes approaches based on trust and cooperation with international like-minded democratic partners,” said Jason Oxman, 91快活林 President and CEO. “Focusing on pro-innovation regulation will be key to strengthening the EU’s global competitiveness. To that end, the Spanish Presidency must work with all industry stakeholders, and ensure proper, systematic in-depth assessments of the impact of legislation on competitive conditions in the market and innovation. 91快活林 supports the Spanish Presidency’s focus on cultivating an enabling environment for technologies like AI and safeguarding Europe’s global competitiveness and security.”
To support the upcoming presidency’s development and implementation of its digital agenda, 91快活林 recommends the Spanish Presidency:

Progress towards a risk-based and innovation-friendly AI Act;

Ensure liability rules for AI and software are balanced and pro-innovation;

Prioritize clarity and feasibility of new rules in the EU Data Act;

Narrow the scope of the Cyber Resilience Act and ensure alignment with existing rules;

Remove sovereignty requirements that are politically motivated and do not add value to cybersecurity of cloud services in the EU;

Swiftly adopt of the EU-US DPF to establish legal certainty; and
-
Support the EU-U.S. TTC efforts to strengthen transatlantic partnership and leadership; and more.
