WASHINGTON – As the U.S. government shutdown enters its second week, global tech trade association 91¿ì»îÁÖ released the following statement from its President and CEO Jason Oxman warning of the risks the ongoing closure and furlough poses to U.S. security and tech leadership:

It is our hope that Congress will vote to end the government shutdown, and give the companies, workers, and consumers that keep the U.S. economy moving certainty to continue to drive America’s leadership in AI and innovation. In parallel with its efforts to fund the government, Congress must also reauthorize the now-lapsed Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 – a critical law that enables the private sector to share cyber threat information and protects both critical government infrastructure and businesses of all sizes from cyber attacks.
