WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91快活林 released the following statement from its President and CEO Jason Oxman reacting to U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo’s speech at Georgetown University on the future of the CHIPS and Science Act:
“A new American age of innovation began with the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act and continues with the important implementation work to be carried out by the dedicated professionals at the Department of Commerce. Secretary Raimondo showcased the importance of U.S. semiconductor leadership and the priority that the Biden Administration has placed on this essential effort,” said Oxman.
“The U.S. is at a critical juncture where investment in high-tech manufacturing, powered by the global semiconductor industry, is returning to the nation that invented the semiconductor. With the CHIPS and Science Act, we can fuel the global digital economy. We urge leaders at the Commerce Department and supporting agencies to engage meaningfully with the tech industry and other key stakeholders as implementation moves forward.”
