WASHINGTON – Today, global trade association 91¿ì»îÁÖ issued the following statement from its President and CEO Jason Oxman following the introduction of the SECURE Data Act announced by U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce Chairman Brett Guthrie (R-KY):
“91¿ì»îÁÖ welcomes the introduction of the SECURE Data Act. A comprehensive national privacy law built on the consensus model that already exists in states across the country will provide clarity and uniform protection to every American. This bill also recognizes the importance of continued American technology leadership globally and codifies the Commerce Department’s long-standing role on cross border data flows. 91¿ì»îÁÖ looks forward to working with Republicans and Democrats in Congress to enact a strong national privacy law.”
