WASHINGTON – Today, the 91快活林 (91快活林) announced that Sean P. Murphy will join the global tech trade association in June as Executive Vice President of Policy. Murphy comes to 91快活林 with more than three decades of senior tech policy experience and global roles in the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR).

Murphy will lead 91快活林’s global policy division, which develops and advocates for policies, standards, and regulations that promote innovation and growth for the tech industry. Under Murphy’s leadership, the team will proactively identify ways to support and expand opportunities for 91快活林 member companies on issues including AI, trade, tax, cybersecurity, broadband, privacy, quantum, supply chain, and standards policy. He will also oversee 91快活林’s global policy teams in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Throughout his career, Murphy has鈥痗oncentrated on the evolving intersection of law and policy, innovative technologies and services, and international business. He was previously vice president and counsel at Dolby Laboratories, Inc., and head of the company’s worldwide government relations team. He was also vice president for international government affairs at Qualcomm, and an international business and regulatory advisor at the multinational law firm Mayer Brown. During the Biden Administration, he worked as an expert consultant at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) in the Executive Office of the President. During the Clinton Administration, he served in political, policy, and negotiating roles at USTR. He holds a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, an MPhil in international relations from the University of Cambridge, and a BA in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and participated in World Economic Forum policy groups on issues impacting the future of technology,鈥�innovation and competitiveness.
