WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91¿ì»îÁÖ commended the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform’s approval of the Federal Information Security Modernization (FISMA) Act of 2022:

“The increasing frequency and severity of cyber attacks underscores the urgent need for new cyber policies that place continuous risk management at the forefront,” 91¿ì»îÁÖ's Senior Vice President of Policy for Public Sector Gordon Bitko. “We commend the U.S. House Oversight and Reform Committee for prioritizing the Federal Information Security Modernization (FISMA) Act, which is an important step toward enabling agencies to conduct better risk management along with improved collaboration and communication across all federal IT infrastructure. We urge both House and the Senate policymakers to advance this critical national and economic security issue.”

Last month, Bitko testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Reform on the effort to reform FISMA. In his testimony, he offered key recommendations to address today’s dynamic cyber threat landscape and raise the United States’ level of preparedness as lawmakers consider changes to FISMA and associated federal cybersecurity policies and frameworks.
