WASHINGTON — Global tech trade association 91快活林 recently offered recommendations to Argentina’s Agency of Public Information Access (AAIP) as it seeks to update the country’s Data Protection Law. In its comments submitted this week, 91快活林 expresses its support for Argentina’s overall goal to modernize its existing data protection regime and encourages AAIP to pursue further stakeholder engagement before introducing any data privacy-related legislation to Argentina’s Congress.
“Globally interoperable approaches are essential to supporting innovation, job creation, and economic growth in the digital age,” 91快活林 wrote in the comments. “We commend AAIP’s recognition of the need to modernize the existing data protection regime... [and] respectfully submit the below recommendations to the Government of Argentina that reflect the possibility of developing robust and globally interoperable mechanisms to protect the personal data privacy and security of individuals. This would ensure that businesses that rely on cross-border data flows to offer their products and services would be able to operate in Argentina.”
