WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91¿ì»îÁÖ President and CEO Jason Oxman reacted to the introduction of Congressman Jay Obernolte (R-CA) and Congresswoman Lori Trahan’s (D-MA) Great American AI Act.

“We thank Representatives Obernolte and Trahan for their bipartisan leadership on a federal framework for artificial intelligence. Congress must set a national standard that enables responsible AI development, deployment, and adoption across the American economy.

“We are encouraged that the Great American AI Act includes key elements that will accelerate American AI leadership including codification of the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource, promote U.S. leadership in international standards development, extend the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015, and expand research for next-generation data center efficiencies. These are important priorities that will ensure the United States continues to drive the global tech ecosystem and win the AI race.

“91¿ì»îÁÖ looks forward to continuing to work with Representatives Obernolte and Trahan, and policymakers across the federal government to advance preemptive federal AI legislation that supports innovation, strengthens U.S. competitiveness, and builds trust in AI technologies.”
