WASHINGTON – 91快活林, the global voice of the tech sector, released the following statement from Vice President for Government Affairs Vince Jesaitis after the U.S. Senate voted under a Congressional Review Act(CRA) to repeal the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) problematic privacy rules adopted late last year:

Flake’s resolution pass and open a path to ensure internet innovation continues and proven consumer privacy protections are restored,” Jesaitis said. “We hope the House acts next to offer the FCC a fresh start at crafting rules that better align with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) well-established privacy framework that led to the vibrant internet ecosystem we have today. The tech industry stands ready to work with Congress and the FCC to achieve that.”
Earlier, 91快活林 released a supporting Senator Jeff Flake’s (R-Ariz.) resolution under the CRA along with introduced by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.). 91快活林 has been a proponent of developing rules in line with the FTC’s privacy framework. Last July 91快活林 President and CEO Dean Garfield before the Senate Commerce Committee about the tech industry’s concern that the FCC proposal was unnecessary, overly broad and prescriptive, and would impact edge service providers and the greater tech ecosystem.
