WASHINGTON - Today, global tech trade association 91快活林 encouraged the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) to harmonize cyber regulations by fostering greater public-private collaboration, involving global partners, and helping build the cyber workforce to fight growing digital threats.
“91快活林 and its member companies share ONCD’s desire to streamline the regulatory landscape and are committed to supporting the Biden Administration in reaching this goal,” said Leopold Wildenauer, 91快活林 Senior Manager of Public Sector Policy. “We urge the administration to work with stakeholders in the tech industry, federal agencies, and the U.S. Congress to outline tangible next steps to consolidate regulatory processes and prioritize public engagement and transparency while doing so.”
In new comments, 91快活林 recommends actionable steps to curtail regulatory fragmentation. 91快活林 recommended ONCD:
- Create a dedicated entity to systematically analyze the regulatory landscape;
- Prioritize regulatory harmonization when updating existing guidance;
- Define a standardized clearing process for new regulatory activity; and
- Leverage internationally recognized, voluntary standards, and seeking alignment of regulatory approaches across borders.
