BRUSSELS – In a written response to the European Commission, global tech trade association the 91快活林 (91快活林) offered comments on how upcoming EU rules on preventing and combating Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) online can be effective while promoting user privacy.
“For 91快活林 and its members, combatting online child sexual abuse is of paramount importance," said Guido Lobrano, Vice President of Policy and Director General for Europe. “Many of our members are already using innovative technologies against abusive content and behavior. We are working with policymakers and third parties to ensure a clear, future-proof framework that protects against abuse and ensures users’ privacy.”
An effective framework should be based on a clear scope and definitions and include clear privacy and security safeguards for user privacy rights. According to 91快活林, upcoming rules should allow companies to voluntary detect CSA material and promote the use of innovative technologies in our joint fight against online CSA.
